The All-New iPhone 12 Dilemma

Recently Apple has revealed and launched its latest iPhone, called the iPhone 12 with a price tag of 999 USD (256 GB). The phone is launched with a lot of variants dubbed as iPhone 12 pro, iPhone 12 pro max, and iPhone 12 mini.

Carrying the traditional rounded corners and a glass back look, the new iPhone comes with 5G connectivity as compared to its predecessors. With the latest ios 14 coming pre-installed the device is claimed to be the fastest of any of its predecessors. But what’s cooking the controversies is the fact that Apple has excluded the charger from the box. Consumers will have to buy a charger separately which will cost them an additional 19-120 USD depending on what type of charger they buy. Apple claims that this step is taken to reduce the amount of e-waste being generated every year.

As Apple explained during its iPhone 12 event, excluding the power adapter reduces the size of the box. This means 70 percent more devices can fit on a shipping palette, which means more iPhone 12 devices can ship to users. Smaller boxes also allow Apple to reduce yearly carbon emissions by 2 million metric tons, it says.
